To get that ear-party you've dreamed of, you're going to need more piercings. But, what's a gal to do when she wants more piercings, but doesn't want to step foot into a tattoo parlor?
At STONE AND STRAND, we want to create a welcoming environment for women to get piercings, sans buzzing tattoo guns or cubic zirconia. It’s time to raise the bar on what it means to get that second earring hole. We've put a lot of time into examining the piercing process, covering all of the vital details and going above-and-beyond standard practices so that you don't have to think twice about your next piercing.
We're taking matters into our own hands, and approaching the piercing process the same way we approach the level of jewelry pieces and designers we offer. Bringing our expensive taste into the piercing world, we're keeping the hygiene, piercing jewelry, and even eco-friendliness in mind, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience.
We're going above and beyond standard hygiene practices, taking a step back to examine the minimum standards and ensuring that we do our due diligence to raise that bar even higher.
Everything used in the piercing process is single-use and disposable, which means there is significantly less risk of germ transfer between clients, as all implements are disposed of after each piercing. Nitrile gloves are worn during each piercing to be sensitive to those with latex allergies. And, everything is sterilized in an autoclave immediately prior to piercing, as well.
Our process was painstakingly developed with members of the Association of Professional Piercers, and we are proud to offer a piercing hygiene standard that's above what you'll typically find in the space today.
A needle is used for all piercings. Needles are disposable and able to be fully sterilized in an autoclave, while piercing guns are not. Needles also allow the piercer to be much more accurate with the piercing angle and placement, which is super important if you're getting multiple piercings. Piercing with a needle is less traumatic to the area being pierced, which can mean an easier heal.
Our piercers are all highly trained and leaders in their field, with a minimum of three years full-time piercing experience. We're highly selective, so our piercers have also been chosen for their ability to advise you on the most stylish ear game and the best placement of your next piercing to match the ones you already have.
Anyone 13 and above, who is not pregnant or breastfeeding, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, is able to get pierced at this event.
Please bring a valid copy of your photo ID when coming in for your appointment. Please make sure that the form of ID is not expired. We accept; US Drivers Licenses, Country/State Issued ID, US Military ID, and International Passports. We do not accept copies or pictures of your ID.
Minors under 18 years of age must bring a valid photo ID (Drivers License or Permit, passport, or birth certificate), and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian must have a valid photo ID as well as legal paper documenting the guardianship.
We've designed a special collection of our best-sellers that's been re-imagined for the piercing process. These stylish options have been specially designed to meet the standards and needs of a safe piercing, so the prices account for that. They've got the same cool look you've come to know and love from STONE AND STRAND, but are made specially for new piercings.
All of our piercing jewelry is either solid, nickel-free 14k yellow gold or medical grade titanium, which means higher quality jewelry with less chance of allergic reaction. All jewelry also meets the Association of Professional Piercers' minimum guidelines, which require the safest materials with the best surface finish to decrease risk of irritation or reaction to the jewelry materials. And, we've also brought two buzzy brands in the piercing space, LeRoi and Body Gems, into our portfolio of partner designers.
There are no animal products used in the piercing process or recommended aftercare of the piercing, making the entire process vegan-friendly. All of our jewelry is manufactured ethically by companies who pay their employees fairly and don't exploit child labor. All stones are ethically sourced, earth-mined and compliant with the Kimberley process. And, we've ensured that all products in the process have the lowest toxicity possible.
Drink plenty of water, and make sure to eat a good meal at least 4 hours before the piercing. Otherwise, just try to relax and have a great time!
Gently rinse the piercing no more than twice a day with clean warm water, or sterile saline wound wash. Keep the piercing out of baths, pools, hot tubs, or any other bodies of water for 6-8 weeks. Do not touch, twist, or otherwise handle your piercing, as this can increase your risk of infection or irritation, and extend the healing process. Keep soap, peroxide, neosporin, bactine, rubbing alcohol, and other harsh chemicals away from the piercing. Less is more!
